Happy Monday! My morning usually starts at 7 and I start my new morning routine. I plan on sharing another post soon of a more in-depth day to day routine! But this morning looked a little different for me. Last night my 9-month-old came down with a fever and that made for a long night of little to no sleep. With this being his first time getting sick, it made it a little more difficult but thankfully, he’s such an easy-going baby so even with not feeling good, he’s still in a pretty good mood. It’s been a long day as Isaiah and I were up a lot through the night trying to keep him comfortable, feeding him bottles, and giving him medicine. As the fever got a little stronger and he became a little more congested we gave him another dose of infant Tylenol and an infant chest rub from Shea Moisture. As soon as I put it on his little chest, his breathing became easier, and I noticed even I could breathe easier from smelling it!

As the day has progressed and we’re very sleep deprived, we’ve continued to work together to run through the routine and comfort our sick little man. He’s slept a lot which we’ve expected and are grateful for. A baby that sleeps is usually able to fight the sickness a little better! The more sleep, vitamins, and medicine that he can get, the better his body is able to fight the infection that’s going through his body. When our family starts getting sick, I always try and make sure we get some immune system boosters to help our bodies fight it off easier. Colloidal silver and elderberry syrup are a couple of my go-tos!

Colloidal silver helps protect against bacterial infection and boosts the immune system! It’s great for anti-bacterial use, ear infection, wound care, pink eye, and so much more!

Elderberry syrup is high in antioxidants and helps improve cold and flu symptoms! It can help reduce length and severity of influenza while simultaneously helps support the immune system!

As I’ve been going about my day and trying to keep our day going smoothly I’ve leaned on the Lord for strength in my exhaustion. It’s so easy to get frustrated and discouraged when we’re tired and things get difficult. It’s become one of my daily prayers for grace and that I would have patience with those I interact with during my day. It’s easy for me to be hard on myself and feel like I’m alone in my daily struggles as a mommy and even as a wife. That I’m not doing enough or that I failed at some point during the day when I allowed my flesh the victory in a tough situation. That’s where grace comes in!

As I held Gideon as he slept this afternoon, it came to my mind that just as he is relying on me and wanting to be near me as he doesn’t feel good, I can do the same with God! When my heart is heavy, when I have questions, when I’m needing peace and comfort, I can go to my Heavenly Father’s arms!

Often times I can get so caught up in going through the motions that I forget to take a step back and look to my Heavenly Father when my strength is gone. That I can come to him as a child and seek his peace and comfort! That his strength and grace is sufficient for me! It’s an amazing reminder that I’m human and my strength will run out, but I have an All Powerful God that fills me with his strength if I’ll simply go to him and ask.

I pray that just as God encouraged my heart with this today, that he encouraged yours as well through me!

  1. Amen! Feel like the Lord has been teaching me to let go of productivity as an idol – sometimes sitting and holding Abel is the most productive thing he has called me to do in that moment

    1. I feel like God blesses us with children to teach us to slow down in life and to teach us some valuable lessons we wouldn’t otherwise learn in those moments when we take the time to slow down!
