“Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.”

A powerful and heartfelt prayer. One that we should desire to pray for us daily. That we wouldn’t be ashamed of our God and faith. We don’t need to fear this world. As we have put our trust in God, we are in his hands forever. While we may be criticized and bullied for our faith, and even some lose their lives because of their belief in Christ, that’s all they’re capable of. We can’t have our salvation taken away and once we’re in eternity we won’t have the burdens and cares of this world! We can’t be plucked from his hands!

We don’t need to fear our enemies. God has given us strength and victory in his name. His name is more powerful than any other name! We can worship and praise him while following his footsteps. We don’t have to give the devil room to feed doubts and lies into our minds. Through Christ, we have power and authority over him. He can’t harm us!

This world is cruel but it’s also full of lost souls. If we’re ashamed to admit our faith and share our merciful God, how will they be saved from the pits of Hell? How can we rejoice with them of their triumph and victory over eternal death if we aren’t bold?

Let me not be ashamed!
