“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”

Jesus gave us a commandment to follow his example, and love others just as he loves us. We’re not to judge others or be picky about who we’re going to show love towards. We’re to love one another. Every one. Just as Jesus doesn’t define us by our sin, we don’t get to decide who to love or not love because of their sin. We are to love the person, not the sin.

As followers of Christ, this is how the world is supposed to know that we are his children. By loving everyone around us! Caring for their needs! Being kind! If we’re not showing love to those around us, simply because we don’t feel like it, are we being a disciple of Christ? Are they able to see Christ in us? Will our actions be a testimony of our faith?

We are to love unconditionally. If we aren’t being loving to the lost, how are they going to get saved? They see our actions and our fruit and make their choice based on what they see in us. Whether or not we’re being true stewards and examples of his love. How we treat others has a big impact on our testimony.

Are we loving each other just as Christ loves us?
