“And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of a good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.”

Just as God had shared this message with Joshua, Joshua shared it with the people of Israel when they were in the heat of many battles. We can apply this same message as we face our own battles in life that seem impossible. Or maybe it’s a struggle that won’t let up, a spiritual fight that leaves you weary, or a situation that makes you wonder if victory is even possible. If so, take heart—you’re not alone!

One of the greatest truths in this passage is that the battle belongs to the Lord. Joshua didn’t tell the Israelites to be strong in their own power—he reminded them that God Himself was fighting for them! And the same is true for you! Whatever battle you’re facing—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—you don’t have to fight alone. God is already ahead of you, working things out in ways you can’t even see yet.

Three truths to hold onto:

  1. Fear is a Liar.
  2. Strength Comes from Trusting God.
  3. Victory is Already Won!

The enemy wants you to believe that you won’t make it, that the struggle is too big, or that you’re not strong enough. But fear is not from God (2 Timothy 1:7). Courage isn’t about feeling strong all the time—it’s about choosing to trust God even when you feel weak. You may not see the victory yet, but God is faithful, and He has the final say over every battle you face.

Maybe today, you’re feeling surrounded. Maybe the battle is bigger than you imagined. But hear this: God is with you, and He will not fail you!
