“And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.”
Have you ever stood on the edge of something new and felt completely unqualified? Maybe it’s a big decision, a calling from God, or a season of life that feels overwhelming. Fear creeps in, whispering that you’re not enough. Doubt tells you to turn back. But here’s the truth: God is with you! King David gives his son Solomon a charge that speaks straight to our hearts today. Solomon had a massive task ahead—building the temple of the Lord. It was a job bigger than his abilities, but David reminded him of something we all need to hear: God never calls us without equipping us!
David’s words to Solomon weren’t just good advice; they were a promise. “The Lord God, even my God, will be with thee.” Those words hold the same power for us today. Whatever God is calling you to do—raising a family, stepping into a new job, starting a ministry, or even walking through a difficult season—He is with you. You don’t have to muster up strength on your own. God’s presence is your source of courage.
When we trust that God will not fail us or forsake us, we can take the next step—even when we don’t see the whole path. We don’t have to have all the answers. We just have to be obedient. David’s final words to Solomon are simple yet powerful: “Be strong and of good courage, and do it.” What has God placed on your heart? What step of faith is He asking you to take?
This is your encouragement today: Be strong. Be courageous. And do it. God will be with you every step of the way.
