I don’t have a devotional for today but as I was practicing on my keyboard today, I flipped to this song in my hymnal, written by Joseph H. Gilmore and William B. Bradbury, and it really touched my heart! The reminder that, no matter what, his hand is always outstretched to us for us to grab hold of! In every season of life, every storm we face, we can hold his hand as he leads us through and keeps us safe! When we are faced with confusion or hurt he will guide us through and bring us to the other side! And we don’t need to be afraid of death as we will be going home to eternity with him! What a blessed thought!
1. He leadeth me, O blessed tho’t!
O words with heaven’ly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where-e’re I be
Still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me.
Chorus
He leadeth me, he leadeth me!
By his own hand He leadeth me!
His faithful foll’wer I would be,
for by His hand He leadeth me.
2. Sometimes ‘mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea
Still tis His hand that leadeth me!
Chorus
3. Lord, I would clasp Thy hand in mine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine,
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ‘tis my God that leadeth me!
Chorus
4. And when my task on earth is done,
When, by Thy grace, the vict’ry’s won
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since God thro’ Jordan leadeth me.
Chorus
