“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”

Jesus prayed for our safety. That while we are in this world, we would stand apart and be safe from evil. We are sanctified and have been sent out into the world just as Christ was. We are to continue in his footsteps in reaching the world for him. He desires that that all would come to him, and we are to be his vessels to share the good news of the gospel.

We are to be in this world, but we are no longer a part of this world. As daughters of Christ, we are just pilgrims on the journey to our real home in heaven! It’s okay to stand apart and to be different! Jesus was mocked and criticized just as we are today but that didn’t stop him from preaching and ministering. We don’t need to fear this world or be ashamed to say that we’re a Christian! God isn’t ashamed of us!

Let’s take our part in the Great Commission! Let’s follow in Jesus’ footsteps and desire to see souls saved from the depths of Hell! If you have someone you’re praying for, feel free to share their names in the comments! I’d love to pray with you that God would reveal himself to them that they would accept the gift of salvation!
