“Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.”
Have you ever found yourself in a season where everything around you feels like a storm? Maybe you’re facing uncertainty in your finances, struggles in your marriage, or a health crisis that has shaken your world. In Acts 27, we find Paul on a ship caught in a violent storm. The winds raged, the waves crashed, and fear overtook the crew. But in the middle of the chaos, Paul stood firm in faith. He encouraged those around him with a simple yet powerful truth: God’s promises never fail!
Paul didn’t ignore the storm. He saw the fear in the sailors’ eyes, felt the ship’s violent rocking, and heard the howling winds. But his faith was anchored, not in the situation, but in what God had spoken. How often do we let our circumstances determine our faith instead of God’s promises? It’s easy to trust when the waters are calm, but real faith is built in the storm. Paul declared, “I believe God.” Not I hope, not I think, but I believe—fully and completely!
The sailors had a choice: they could panic, or they could trust. Paul’s unwavering faith was a testimony to those around him, and because of it, they found hope in a hopeless situation.
Friend, you have the same choice today. You can let fear take the wheel, or you can stand on God’s Word. When doubts creep in, declare like Paul:
- I believe God will provide for my family!
- I believe God is working all things for my good!
- I believe God’s promises are true, no matter what I see!
Paul didn’t just keep his faith to himself—he encouraged others. Your faith in the storm isn’t just for you; it’s a testimony to those around you. Maybe your children are watching how you respond to difficulty, or a friend needs to see your unwavering trust in God. Your faith can be the light that helps someone else through their darkest night. So today, be of good cheer! Believe that God is in control! Hold fast to His promises. The storm may be fierce, but His Word is stronger!
