“And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.”

What an amazing story we see here! The fruit of two men obeying the Lord and worshipping him no matter the time or circumstances, and an entire household was led to the Lord!

Because of their praise and worship in the jail, and not running when the doors were opened, Paul and Silas had the opportunity to witness to the jailer and his entire family. That same night, his whole family heard the gospel and got saved and baptized! What an amazing opportunity that God had given them! Their faithfulness and obedience to the Lord continued to have a mighty impact on lives all around them!

Are we prepared for this kind of opportunity? If God were to send us an individual or a family to love and minister to, are we spiritually and physically ready for them? Jesus spoke to the disciples in Matthew 9 that ‘The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few;’. Are we prepared to harvest? We should be joyful and eager to share the gospel! To bring the lost souls to Christ just as Paul and Silas did! We are surrounded by people that are lost and need the gospel. Are we willing to obey the Lord and reach out to those he leads us to?
