“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”
Our God is a faithful and powerful God. He doesn’t up and leave us at the first sign of disobedience or because of our tendencies to wander from the straight and narrow. He is merciful toward us even when we truly don’t deserve his mercy! We stray, we go back on our word, we get angry at God when a trial comes our way. But instead of removing us as we would justly deserve, he extends grace and mercy. He chastens us and seeks to bring us back unto himself.
He keeps his promises and his covenants with us. As we love him and seek to obey him, he will fulfill his promises and answer our prayers. We may never be perfect and will never be able to always keep his commandments while we live in this sinful world. But he is faithful to us in ways we never could be, as he has proven time and time again to us, his children.
